Remove slag by machine
There are two basic ways to remove slag. On the one hand, this can be achieved with a sanding process. Very rough abrasive grains K24/K36 are then used and the (often several) contact rollers are made to be very soft. On the other hand, slag can also be removed. The advantage of this second variant: Less cutting is required and the sanding belts are protected! The trend today is therefore increasingly not to remove slag using the sanding process, but simply to beat it off.
Remove the slag with slag pins
Hardened steel pins, which are vulcanized into a pot brush, have become established as an efficient tool for removing slag. Since the workpieces are often warped, it is necessary to let the pot brushes attack from above with the hardened steel pins. The tools are adjusted so that they do not hit the workpieces sideways, but only touch the protruding slag. Remaining burr formation is removed with downstream broadband.
