Bad Oeynhausen, 10.04.2025
As the world's leading trade fair, LIGNA not only stands for the worldwide range of tools, machines and equipment for woodworking and processing, but with its thematic setting, it is also regarded as a driving force for industry development. On the 50th anniversary, tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world are once again expected in Hanover from May 26-30, 2025. In addition to four machines, the traditional grinding machine manufacturer Heesemann has plenty of innovations and solutions on board.
Automation, digital connectivity and intelligent product features that are tailored to customer needs are the main theme of this year's LIGNA. But in the end, it's about the results that customers can achieve with it. That is why Heesemann has this year solutions and customer testimonials in focus. High-quality floor coverings, exclusive pieces of furniture or individual applications from well-known manufacturers will find their place at the exhibition stand and invite visitors to discover the world of grinding. The whole thing is rounded off with a Automation example, which can also be implemented in smaller companies at manageable investment costs. Because in addition to efficiency, the issue of lack of skilled workers is also one of the leading issues of our time. The grinding experts from Heesemann will show how craftsmen can automate their production simply and cost-effectively and thus set themselves up efficiently and for the future.
“Changing conditions in the global economy, the widespread shortage of skilled workers, cost pressure and international competition pose major challenges in particular to traditional businesses and smaller craft businesses. At Heesemann, we develop forward-looking solutions for our customers that they can implement easily and cost-effectively. In doing so, we are doing our part to develop Germany as a location in a sustainable and future-oriented manner. ”

Technical innovation: The processing of components of different thicknesses in the same run
Heesemann's latest technology is celebrating a world premiere: the High speed height adjustment Using separate drives, the height of all units in the machine can be adjusted individually and independently of each other. This individual height adjustment makes it possible to process different types and thicknesses of work pieces in the same run. The whole process takes place in no less than 25 mm/second, i.e. eight times as fast as with normal machine height adjustments. Developed by Heesemann engineers high speed height adjustment unique so far. The advantage is that parts such as fronts, frames and body no longer have to be processed by type by the grinding machine and downstream painting systems, but this is done in the same run. This eliminates time-consuming and costly sorting work, as parts of an entire kitchen can be picked together, for example. This technology was developed for the first time for an American kitchen manufacturer, reducing the processing time from 2 minutes to 12 seconds, which enables enormous manufacturing efficiency.
MFA 10 with RUL and OSR aggregate
that RUL lamellar roller aggregate is Heesemann's innovation that enables absolutely uniform edge breaking at all edges and the processing of very deep profiles. The RUL unit consists of 6 orbiting satellites, each of which carries a grinding flake roller with a width of 300 mm. By orbiting the satellites in conjunction with their rotation around both their vertical and horizontal axes, workpieces are processed equally intensively from all directions, which no other brushing process on the market achieves. Thanks to the unique kinematics, in addition to vacuum, it is possible to use pressure rollers to fix the workpieces on the conveyor belt. This is a unique advantage, especially for long, narrow parts and warped workpieces.
With the OSR (Orbital Scratch Removal) Heesemann has another technical innovation in its luggage, which is of particular interest to overseas customers. When grinding frame parts or other workpieces with different grain directions, grinding against the grain direction cannot be avoided. The abrasive marks created are clearly visible, especially when using dark stains. With the OSR, all sanding marks are effectively removed. The stationary, vibrating sanding belt of the OSR unit removes the sanding marks from the grinding machine located upstream. The result is an absolutely smooth surface, so that, after pickling, there is no difference in color depending on the texture of the grain. So far, the OSR has mainly been used in machines for the American market, as the demand for the so-called 5-piece doors is very high there. The technology has great potential for European furniture manufacturers who want to differentiate themselves from the competition with the application that is not yet widespread on the local market.
MFA Impression with DB-S plate brush unit
Equipped with a calibrating roller, a longitudinal and transverse unit and the DB-S plate brush unit, the MFA Impression Every conceivable sanding task: solid wood, veneer, paint and 3D surfaces can be processed with it. The MFA Impression is flexible and versatile, and appeals to both upscale craftsmen and industrial companies. The tried and tested DB-S plate brush unit ensures a perfect cut without traces of oscillation and is flexible and versatile. The processing of three-dimensional surfaces, such as kitchen fronts with fillings or workpieces with radii on the edges (e.g. doors, windows, table tops) and structuring, are easily possible with this unit. Another advantage that saves time and money: sharp edges of the workpiece are broken in the same pass, meaning that no additional manual work is required.
JSM model premiere: The price and performance winner
The JSM is an affordable all-round machine for small and medium-sized craft businesses with high demands on surface quality. It is available in two grinding widths and three equipment packages. Depending on the package, it is ideal for sanding solid wood, veneer and lacquer. It offers an extremely good price-performance ratio and can be delivered within a very short time due to the predefined configurations.
HSM: The surface grinding machine for the craft sector
The HSM is the tailor-made surface grinding machine for the needs of small and medium-sized craft and industrial companies. Whether it's effect sanding, cross sanding, lacquer or high-gloss sanding, boards, solid wood or veneered workpieces — the Heesemann HSM is the perfect grinding machine for crafts, and is particularly interesting for carpenters and interior designers. The HSM is available in predefined standard configurations, is equipped with two, three or four units and can be equipped with a cross belt for cross-grinding.
SERVICE: Solution provider using innovative service products
In addition to technological innovations, Heesemann is presenting a revised service portfolio at LIGNA that goes far beyond the topic of installation and spare parts. For example, customers can have existing systems converted in such a way that they bring old machines up to date with the latest technology using an electrical rebuild or open up new applications by exchanging units without having to buy a new machine right away. Virtual service assignments enable real-time problem solving, application and technician training optimizes the use of the machine and helps customers get the most out of their system.
Bad Oeynhausen, Heesemann's headquarters, is just a 1-hour drive from the exhibition center. It makes sense to visit a trade fair with a Factory tour to connect with Heesemann. For interested customers, Heesemann offers a shuttle service that takes them to Bad Oeynhausen in the morning so that they are back at the exhibition center at noon. The shuttle service requires prior registration online or directly with stand personnel.
