“For me, Heesemann is the epitome of sanding. ”
Martin Eisele (CEO Brunegg AG)

High-quality doors for a wide range of customer requirements — Brunex opts for Heesemann.

For many, Heesemann is the epitome of sanding. As the world market leader in wood sanding machines, we can therefore rightly say that we are one step ahead of our competitors. But why do customers choose Heesemann? We're asking.

Talking today: Martin Eisele, CEO of “Brunex — Die Tür der Schweizer. ”

The task

Mr. Eisele, you are CEO at Brunegg AG. With your Brunex brand, you are the leading door manufacturer in Switzerland and supply high-quality doors to meet the highest customer requirements. Your new plant in Brunegg also has two Heesemann sanding machines. Why Heesemann in particular?
You've actually already answered the question yourself. We are a renowned manufacturer and a strong brand in Switzerland, and we only wanted to work with the best. And since it's about sanding, the decision was clear relatively quickly. For us, sanding means: Heesemann. In addition, Heesemann met all target criteria and the personal contact was great right from the start. Overall, we simply had a good feeling.

In addition to feeling good, what was particularly important to you when choosing a machine?
As you mentioned at the beginning, we built a completely new plant in 2015, using the latest technology, of which we are also very proud. The new sanding machine had to be integrated into the existing production line, be fully automatically controlled and be able to communicate with other machines in the production chain. In addition to the technical equipment, one thing was and is particularly important to us: our employees. We would like to offer you an attractive workplace, a modern system that is easy to operate and fun to work at. The Heesemann comes across quickly, with its large display, it looks modern and is overall valuable and attractive. The sanding result and usability were of course primarily decisive, but not alone.

Which Heesemann machines do you use?
An MFA 10 for the road and an MFA Impression for custom production.

What exactly is being done on these machines?
Standard processes for surface treatment of doors, such as calibrating or sanding, are shown. So actually nothing special, but fully automated and of consistent quality. The MFA10 is our “egg-laying woolly milk sow”. It is in the street and must therefore be integrated into the overall process. Flexibility was particularly important to us, for example by quickly changing sanding belts and programs as well as minimal set-up times. The MFA Impression is a stand-alone solution and is intended for custom manufacturing of special or oversized parts.

MFA Impression for custom production

The great thing was that we had the opportunity to configure and adapt the new machines exactly to our requirements. In the end, this was also the deciding factor for the collaboration with Heesemann.

How long have the machines been in use?
For about 2 years.

Were there any problems or complaints with the machine during this time?
Integration into a production line is never immediately easy, but everything was within normal limits. The great thing was that through intensive personal contact, all problems could be solved together. The theory-practice process worked brilliantly. We always felt that we were in good hands and it is extremely reassuring to know that this will continue to be the case with Heesemann in the future. Good choice then! (grins)

Is there a measurable increase in productivity as a result of the new machine? Can you now offer certain door designs that were not possible before?
Our product range is the same as before, we can continue to offer everything. The big advantage is that we have shorter set-up times and therefore longer running times and that our flexibility has increased.

Would you buy a Heesemann again? Why would you recommend Heesemann?
Yes, definitely! The machine performance is right, our own employees are satisfied, the service is great and the personal contact is right. What more could you want?

Mr. Eisele, one last sentence: “For me, Heesemann stands for...”
... sanding machines. That is a Heesemann, she stands for quality & reliability.

Mr. Eisele, thank you very much for the interesting conversation and continued success.

The BRUNEX success story

collaboration.

The municipality of Brunegg is a tranquil village in the canton of Aargau. Located in northern Switzerland, it represents pretty much everything you would expect from such a place: Scattered between the Reuss Valley and the Lower Bünz Valley, a few dozen houses blend into the lush greenery of the surrounding lush forest. Brunegg Castle towers over all this and appears to be watching over the village at the top of the Chestenberg at the top of the Chestenberg. But Brunegg is not just home to a picturesque idyll. For over 65 years, this remote town has been home to a company that can be described as a hidden champion in the truest sense of the word: Türenfabrik Brunegg AG is the leading manufacturer of wooden door systems in Switzerland. Over the course of the company's history, more than eight million Brunex door leaves have left the plant in Aargau. As a partner of specialist retailers as well as carpenters, planners and architects, the company stands for innovation, quality and appealing design.

Previously, they worked with a sanding machine from a manufacturer who had to stop production in mid-2016. Since this also jeopardized service and the purchase of spare parts, Brunex felt compelled to find a new, reliable partner. The requirements were clearly defined: The new sanding machine had to be integrated into the existing production line, be controlled fully automatically and be able to communicate with the other machines in the production chain.

Contact with Heesemann was established via HOMAG AG. And after the initial exploratory talks, it quickly became clear that the needs of Swiss door manufacturers were a perfect match for Westphalia's offerings. To ensure that the new machine also met the specific requirements, the entire project was supervised by the managing directors of the two companies.

For example, a delegation led by managing director Christoph Giese and design manager Klaus-Dieter Grave traveled from Bad Oeynhausen to Aargau to define together with the Brunex team led by managing director Martin Eisele on site which expansions and additional functions are needed. “The collaboration was very intensive, thorough and efficient. In a very detailed process, the machine was configured together on site,” says the Heesemann managing director, summarizing this phase.

In addition to the successful integration into the production line, the MMI package in particular was an important part of the new solution. “We produce fully automatically. It is therefore invaluable to see at first glance what status the machine is in from afar,” explains Martin Eisele. It quickly became clear: It should be an MFA 10 for the road and an MFA Impression for the special production. “The ability to configure and adapt the new machines exactly to our ideas was ultimately decisive for working with Heesemann,” Eisele explains the decision. But Bad Oeynhausen was also very satisfied with the collaboration. “It is unusual to carry out a project so thoroughly and in a very trusting relationship at all levels. But that was the fastest way for us to find a joint solution. Overall, I'm very happy with how the collaboration went,” summarizes Giese. And the opportunity to travel to this beautiful spot between Reusstal and Bünztal was certainly also very welcome.
